A man goes to the doctor with a long history of migraine headaches. When the doctor does his history and physical, he discovers that his poor patient has had practically every therapy known to man for his migraines and STILL no improvement.
"Listen," says the Doc, "I have migraines too, and the advice I'm going to give you isn't really anything I learned in medical school, but it's advice that I've gotten from my own experience. When I have a migraine, I go home, get in a nice hot bathtub, and soak for a while. Then I have my wife sponge me off with the hottest water I can stand, especially around the forehead. This helps a little. Then I get out of the tub, take her into the bedroom, and even if my head is killing me, I force myself to have sex with her. Almost always, the headache is immediately gone. Now, give it a try, and come back and see me in six weeks."
Six weeks later, the patient returns with a big grin.
"Doc! I took your advice and it works! It REALLY WORKS! I've had migraines for 17 years and this is the FIRST time anyone has ever helped me!"
"Well," says the physician, "I'm glad I could help."
"By the way, Doc," the patient adds, "you have a REALLY nice house."

Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
: Relapsing-remitting MSI started having MS symptoms back in 2004, when I was in the Navy. I wasn't dx'd until 2008, though. Longest 4 years of my life!
Treatments
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- No side effects, and symptoms don't appear to be as aggressive as they were, before I was dx'd. They're still a bitch, though.
- Swimming Working / Worked
- It's very relaxing.
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Doesn't always give me the relief I need, but it does take the edge off sometimes.
- Carnitine Working / Worked
- I started this because Provigil isnt approved to take during pregnancy. So far I think I like this better. It helps eliminate the fatigue without making me stay up all night or feel like Im on speed.
Close Vegetarians & Vegans
Type: Lacto vegetarianism (No meat or eggs)Ever since being diagnosed with MS, I'm noticing that I'm having difficulty eating/digesting meat. Don't know if there's a connection there, but I do know that I feel better when I eat fruits and veggies vs. meat.
Treatments
- Patience Somewhat Helpful
- This might work better, if I weren't pregnant, and willing to eat any and everything in sight! I'll probably get better at this after the baby's born.
- Raw Food Diet Somewhat Helpful
- It does help, but I'm new to it, so I don't know how to make recipes, yet. The end result is that I'm usually still hungry.
Open Veterans
I used to be a corpsman in the Navy, until I was medically discharged and diagnosed with MS.
