Can you call the doctor and explain the situation and see what advice he has for you? At least he can tell you it is normal or not and what might be done to help.

I'm pulling for you too! You have so much to factor in it's unreal. You have had previous fusions and other surgeries done previous to this one, you have had/have hardware in your back, multiple levels of degeneration, a doctor whos never performed the procedure before, and your body won't take pain meds. Admitedly, it's an unbelievably tough combination. I just wish to God you could take pain meds at least. I"ve been sending a quick prayer your way once a day. it DOES get worse before it gets better but you are of the 1% that doesn't have the benefit of pain meds to help you through. I send you all my strength and hopes. You're in the toughest part.

No matter what you face now, keep in mind, one year from now you're going to be in a much more manageable place.

I want to tell you about a website that you can go to when you are feeling anxious like I do, and it has a link called a meditation tree where you can play these beatutiful pieces of music and do your own meditation OR they even have guided imagery mediation also where a lady with a nice voice guides you through it with music...it could help you to do some of this for the pain AND anxiety, I'm learning anxiety causes more pain...www.myinnerworld.com Let me know what you think of it ok? Healing can take time.. rest as much as you can. Eat foods that are healthy AND easy to digest. Avoid tons of medications, stick to the ones that you only really need. This will all help the body heal over time.
