    • Interests

I love walking and spending time with my little girl and fiance. I love family and am really close with my parents, sisters(4), and friends. We all have children close in age. So, it's nice for them to play together. I am a stay-@-home mom that hopes to go back to school for women's health. Then, I will be on my way to finding a cure for PMS...hopefully!!!

You have made a life changing decision...I need to get myself sorted out too..my PMT is mid month, round about the time I would have ovulated (I'm on the pill) so common sense tells me it has to be hormonal...will be watching you closely and wish you everything of the best.

Talk to the Dr. about it. I think SSRI's effect different people in different ways. I had a follow up appointment after 1 month and I told her my side effects. She told me they were minor and to continue the therapy. Soon after, they did go away.

Thanks so much for your message back to me. I'll write again soon to follow up. In the meantime, I wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and sending big hugs. I hope your little one got through her shots without too much stress and suffering -- actually, you were probably the one who suffered the most! Enjoy your day and I'll be in touch soon. Love, Jen

    • Close Pre-menstrual Syndrome (PMS)

I never understood why sometimes I would feel great and then others I would feel terrible. At one point, I began to think I was bipolar due to a misdiagnosis, by someone who just didn't listen. When I finally found someone who did listen, I marked my moods, and there it was. Plain sight. PMS/PMDD....I hope by joining this group I can help others and myself by sharing information and stories. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. We are in this together!!

      Treatments

      Oral Contraceptives Somewhat Helpful
YAZ helps with my skin, not with my PMS. I am going to switch to Yasmin.
      Prozac Considering
Am very weary of SSRI, hoping to try this sooner than later. Anyone who has tried it. Feel free to send me your experience. Thanks!!
    • Close Anxiety

I began having panic attacks when I was 23. I had never had one before and was terrified. I thought I was losing my mind. The effects of a certain SSRI had caused it. I believe it was an underlying disorder I had always managed to cope with. Not realizing that it was actual anxiety, until my medicine at the time brought it out in full force. Now, I am more knowledgeable and have the tools to manage it.

      Treatments

      Klonopin Working / Worked
I am on the lowest dose of clonazepam possible. I usually take it once a day, but it is prescribed 3Xdaily as needed. At first, it made me tired. After so much time has gone by, my body is very acclimated to it. It is a lifesaver for me. I don't always need it, but when I do, it never fails.
      Lexapro Not Working
For a woman with PMDD & Anxiety, this is the worst medicine I have ever taken. It provoked panic attacks. The only good thing about it was I was never hungry and lost mad weight. Hate this medicine. But, it has been helpful for others to treat anxiety.
      Prozac Working / Worked
So far so good. I just began this medication 5 weeks ago to treat my PMDD. For now I am on a low dose and am increasing a little at a time. I havent had to take my clonazepam as often since I started the Prozac. I am hoping to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Well see.
