Hi Everyone
Hope this finds you all well, and that you are having a good week.
As I think I told you my last scans were stable and I decided to start back on a aggressive chemo since the Dr feels that I am strong enough to fight off the side effects. I had the initial chemo last Tuesday. It was a very long day since I got both drugs Cisplatium and Gemcitabine. The Cisplatium can cause kidney damage so they have to give a large amount of fluid a little more then 6 liters. I did fairly well with it I had some nausea, a headache and of course I was up all night going to the bathroom. Yesterday I had just the Gemcitabine so we were only there for about 2 hours. I got a headache again and nausea, but seem to be tolerating it well. I skip next week (yeah no chemo drugs) then start up again Nov 2. Tomorrow is an Ovarian Cancer conference that my aunt and I plan on going too and Thursday will be a very busy day for us. Foxy is going to the groomer to get beautiful she has to be there by 9 am, then my aunt gets to spend part of the day at the hospital to get blood work and x-ray's done and then we are going to my brother in-law Troy's graduation from the computer schooling that the VA sent him too. He won't admit it but he is excited, since before he started he didn't even know how to turn the computer on. The VA has suggested that he go on to a more advanced program, which we think he will do.
Next week I am going to go to the Ovarian Cancer Walk Run wrap up on Monday. After that my schedule is open.
Stay in touch, you're all in my thoughts and prayers.
Love Kathy

Wishing you a smooth going chemo and fun at your walk. WOW 6 liters of fluids. You must of felt like you were swimming. That must of been a really long day in infusion. I wish I was there to fluff your pillow and get you what you need. Giant hugs and love....Beth

thanks Beth
It was a very long day and from what I have been told they used to keep you in the hospital overnight. Good thing my heart is strong enough to handle all that fluid. This is my off week so will try and get a few things done since I won't feel like it for the next two weeks.
Take care
Love and hugs

I had cisplatin and taxol last year and I was in hospital for three days to get it. It was a tough regime and I felt like a balloon with all that fluid, plus they gave me too many steroids a couple of times by accident.. but I know the platin drugs are the most effective for OC. All the bet wishes for a gentle and successful treatment.. Love and hugs go with you.. xxx

Thanks Inka
I didn't like all that fluid but understand why they have to give it. I did well the first round of treatment with just some nausea, so am hoping that things go well next week when we start again.
Love and Hugs to you also
