About Me
I'm a 35 year old mom of 2 boys. Oldest son 9 1/2, youngest son 6. Married for 14 years. I have a family history of depression/anxiety/ocd issues. I myself suffer from MDAD and anxiety which, until recently has been quite well controlled. My 9 year old has been recently diagnosed with MDD, OCD, anxiety and separation anxiety. I am here looking for ideas on treating him without medication. I am open to any suggestions. I am also here for myself. I am a nine year post-op spinal fusion patient. I have a 12 vertebra fusion and deal with tremendous pain on a daily basis.

Close Depression in Children
My oldest son is struggling with anxiety and depression. We have tried treating with two different ssri's with very negative results. I am wondering what options others have tried and had success with.
Treatments
- Psychotherapy Too Soon to Tell
- Just started not sure yet if it will be effective.
- Zoloft Not Working
- Brought on severe hyperactivity.
- Paxil Not Working
- Brought on agitation aggression and violent behavior.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Considering

- Support from Friends & Family Not Working
Close Separation Anxiety

9 Years Post Spinal Fusion, 12 vertebra, T-4 to L-3
Treatments
- Harrington Rods Working / Worked
- No Pain prior to surgery, nothing but pain since surgery. Everyday pain, horrible debilitating pain.
- Chiropractic Adjustment Somewhat Helpful
- Got me out of the wheelchair but still in daily pain
- Pain Management Clinic Somewhat Helpful
- Many Injections Lots of Meds still in daily pain.
Open Chronic Pain
I am 9 year post-op 12 vertebra spinal fusion. I have been in pain daily since the surgery. I have constant pain, somedays are better than others, but none are good. I have nerve damage, sciatica, muscle spasms, etc.
Treatments
- Chiropractic Adjustment Working / Worked
- Cox technique used, works well.
- Cymbalta Working / Worked
- Working well for depression, not so sure it makes a difference with pain.
- Duragesic Patch Working / Worked
- Helps a little but on a very minimal dose.
- Flexeril Not Working
- nah, doesn't do anything for me.
- Heat Somewhat Helpful
- Feels good, sometimes it helps loosen things up.
- Hydrocodone Working / Worked
- Have been taking it for years. Helps a little I suppose
- Lidoderm Not Working
- Doesn't do a darn thing when you already can't feel your skin...LOL
- Lyrica Working / Worked
- Worked better than neurontin, but insurance won't cover...too expensive to buy without
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Helps when nothing else does.
- Methadone Not Working
- Couldn't take bad side effects
- Mobic Working / Worked
- Just one of my many meds.
- Nerve Blocks Working / Worked
- Have had many different kinds, some work, some don't. No rhyme or reason to it
- Neurontin Working / Worked
- Helps with the nerve issues.
- Physical Therapy Working / Worked
- Massage helps the spasms. Movement of any kind keeps the spine going.
- Robaxin Working / Worked
- Muscle relaxer...one of many meds
- TENS Somewhat Helpful
- Just distracts somewhat from the pain.
