Graves Dosease for 30yrs and all the stuff that goes with it I'm a certified medical assistant and lisenced Veternarian technician. My dad was a Veterinary and my mom was a RN.so I learned both practces I have 4 brothers one is a twin I think my thyroid was bad at puberty and had many storms but by the time I was tested it was normal at least that's what my mom said.I'm kinda no fear kind of person moved to Hawaii at 50 after two friends died one day after the other it didn't turn out well as my thyroid wasn't balanced and they refused to ck my thyroid they just gave me lots of drugs when I came back to WYO in 04 cause my mom was ill I weighed 90lbs my mom thought I was sicker than she was and asked me to stay. Balanced again by Sept of 05 took me that long to be heard. I don't have much respect for docs they have to earn it now with me been burned too many times. I'm a generally happy person who usually give more than I receive which is ok with me.

Moment of Peace
Thanks so much Mary, That formed fitting Jason mask was the freakiest part of the treatments, freaking scary man! Anyway, the radiation is still holding steadfast. I still get double vision every now and then, especially in the morning, but it goes away after an hour or so. Life is coming back, slowly, but coming back. I'm doing so much better emotionally now. Thank God for that. Thanks for the support!

Didn't get a good night's sleep but if 5 hours will do it for today. That's what I'm gonna do. Desperately need to go see my Mom and Hubby is off and willing to drive me so at worse, I will br grumpy before I crash, and since mother has no time conception, we won't have to stay long. Just make an appearance, hoping then I can nap and make an appearance at son's Halloween party before all the trick or treaters show up and they block off the street. Then us TIRED folks won't be able to make it to thier house.
You and Kyle are always in my prayers until he is safely home and probably then some , nothing wrong with prayers to keep you safe even when your stateside.
Did you get your puter at home fixed? I loved chatting with you. Maybe we can do that again sometime soon.

Close Graves' Disease
I've had Grave's for 30 yrs, through pregancy and menopause. I've now been diagnoised with Grossly mismanaged Grave's Disease. I'm apparently one of those people who is extremly sensitive to all meds and enviroment and emotional reactions with my TSH. I've developed severe ostoprosis, severe osteo arthritis, and all the fun things that go with it. I'm only 54 and was told I have the bones of a 80yrs old. Great My eyes have bulged off and on for the last 30yrs. Eyelid surgery a great help.
Treatments
- PTU Not Working
- 3yrs of treatment, hard on my liver and not a good drug.
- Radioactive Iodine Somewhat Helpful
- I took the pill from the lead box and went home. No known side effects. But 30yrs ago they didn't watch you very close back then.
Close Military Families
My son Kyle joined the marines a year ago is now in Iraq still haven't heard from and am new to all of this so any help advice anything to help me get through this and be there for him, thanks Mary
Open Smoking Addiction & Recovery
I have smoed for 40 yrs never over a pk a day usually 1/4 or 1/2. I have been usibg chantex to help and a lot of neat trick they taught me. Getting rid of ashtrays, lighters any reminders I can think of. My quit date is Sept 2nd that's my 56th birthday. Looking all the extra help and support I can get. Thanks for being here. Mary

- Chantix Somewhat Helpful
- Had trouble with 1mg but do ok if they are cut in half. They mess with my BP something terrible so I'm hoping once I have at least 1 wk of no smoking I can quit the chantix.
- Smoking Cessation Class Not Working
- Support Groups Working / Worked
- A nurse calls me every week and its and talk for an hour or so and they have given me great ideas and a lot of support.
- Willpower Working / Worked
- I am determind to quit that's the easy part.
