Add your supportAfter I screwed up during the fall semester of 2008, I had to retake two courses in the spring. We all know what happens when we fail college courses-summer school. So I made plans to attend summer school, but I got a letter today stating the only way for me to attend summer school is to take out an alternative loan because all of my aid has been taken for the upcoming fall and spring semesters.
I cannot take out an alternative loan because of my credit, and the way the economy is going I don't think there are any lenders right now. Besides no one's cosigining, but that's cool. I can wait to catch up. I made the dean's list and I'm happy. My big thing now is that I have a long summer with nothing to do. I don't have a car and this town is so small that jobs are few. So what do I do? My mom wants me to go through with this disability hearing. I don't want to! I don't want to spend the rest of my life living off the govt. I am a self sufficent woman. I try to be anyway. So now I've got to think long and hard about putting together a plan for this summer and quick before the high school kids get out of school. Any suggestions?![]()

Hello DS!!! I know it has been a long time, but I am back! The last time I really talked with you all I was feeling very lonely and hopeless. Then I started college in the Fall of 2008. I didn't do so well in the fall semester. I was having alot of problems at home that really distracted me. So I finished the semester with a 1.6 I think, and I was placed on academic probation. So when the spring semester came, I was blessed to do things alot different. I appealed for my financial aid, and God blessed for it to go through. So I went back to school in the spring and worked my butt off, and the Lord blessed me to finish the spring semester with a 3.25-the minimum requirement for the dean's list.
My cumlitive is a 3.1. I am very proud of myself. If it is the Lord's will, I will be attending summer school soon. So pray for me.
College is cool. It is not like how I expected, b/c I though everyone was going to be out to get me. It wasn't hardly like that though. I met alot of cool people, and I had alot of fun. I learned that people can accept you and love you for who you are. This fall semester I look forward to going back and moving on campus. I'll be a big 27 year old college sophmore living in the dormitories. I know it'll be wierd, but guess what? It'll be my own spot. Along with my roommate of course...hahaha...lol! So DS spring some tips on me about living in a college dorm! What's it like? What do I need to take? I look forward to your responses! Take care and talk with you soon.
