About Me
Full time mom of 3 amazing munchkins. Ages 11, 9 and 10 months. My oldest suffers from anxiety and my youngest was recently diagnosed with Down Syndrome and was born with a heart defect. I am generally busy being a mom, however when I have time for me I love chillin by a fire, going camping, reading a good book, kayaking and hiking. And of course spending the day at the spa doesn't hurt either! Been married for 11 years now and plan to be for many more!

Close Down Syndrome
I have a beautiful little boy (born May 2008) who was recently diagnosed with Down Syndrome. He is a complete blessing to my family and we just love him to pieces. He has two older siblings a ten year old brother and a just turned 9 year old sister.
Close Anxiety Disorders in Children
I have a ten year old boy who suffers from general anxiety disorder. He has been afflicted with anxiety since he was just a toddler. I have worked with him over the years and he is now able to control it the majority of the time on his own. We have used a variety of methods that took time,patience and lots of love. I believe medication is a last resort, and thankfully have not had to go that route as of yet..
Treatments
- Music Working / Worked
- Music has been one of the vices my son uses to help unwind and to help stop his mind from racing. Works great when he catches the anxiety before it escalates.
- Play Therapy Working / Worked
- When he was a toddler this was extremely helpfull. We would role play alot to prepare for anything new. And to work out whatever fears he was currently facing.
Open Congenital Heart Disease
Type: OtherMy youngest son (12 weeks) was born with complete atrioventricular canal defect. He will be going for open heart surgery in a few months. Scary stuff..
Open Parenting 'Tweens (9-12)
My son Kristopher is 10 and believes he is wiser than his years..My daughter Mykaela is 9 and my ever active fashionista, who plays hockey in nets ever so stylishly..

- Sure works great, I get a break from listening to my two fight all the time..lol
- Patience Working / Worked
- My patience level has grown considerably since I'va had children, mainly because it de-fuses situations so much better than yelling.
Open Anxiety
Have suffered from anxiety since I was very young..Thought it was depression for the longest time. Did both Therapy and meds..Now I handle it well on my own!

- Paxil Working / Worked
- It did work but it made me too sleepy..
- Positive Thinking Working / Worked
- It took a while to get my mind to think this way. Definatley worth all the struggles to get there..
