Well had an ortho appt yesterday and my ankle has shifted...so they want to do surgery this coming thurs. not much time to think about …

My Name is Laurie Hazelton and Ive been married to Jon for 8 years and we have a six yearold son, Justin. I have Three dogs Sara, Lucy and Cubby. We live on a farm in Milan, Pa. (pronounced My-lin). My husband raises a few beef cows a year. I am very close to my mom (she also has RA) and my aunts Nancy and Bobbe. i have a brother that lives in florida.

Interests
I love to shop much to my husbands dismay. oh well and I spend lots of time with my mom and my two aunts Nancy and Bobbe. they are taking care of me when my husband is gone. My broken ankle is preventing from doing EVERYTHING. my six year old keeps my mom and my aunt busy with t ball, volley ball, summer day camp, swimming...all those things i cant do.. plus all my dr. appts. I like to read, and camp and go on day trips around the area. But all that is put on hold now. hopefully being here will save me from sure insanity lol!

Really sorry about your ankle; that must be so painful as well as frustrating. I have to have foot surgery for a real bad bunion and I've put it off and put if off because it will drive me crazy to be immobilized for any length of time. Lynne

Hey heres a big old hug. My RA is affecting my right ankle today and I can't walk on it either. Fortunately for me it should be better tomorrow. But honey, I do feel your pain! ((hugs))marcia

So sorry to hear about your ankle! I broke mine on 5/16, and I'm STILL in the cast (and it's the right, so I can't drive, either). Hope yours heals quickly and well!

Close Rheumatoid Arthritis
I was dx'ed with RA in 1992. Been on a lot of different medications, but currently taking Enbrel, Medrol and zithromax. The Enbrel Works great for me and the medrol is being tapered. 8 mgs a day and in two weeks it will be 8 mgs every other day. I take the zithromax for my rheumatoid Lung condition. It really seems to be working. I was very very sick for over a year with pneumonia off and on. But the antibiotic is working now.
Treatments
- Enbrel Working / Worked
- Works great... no flare=ups since i started back on it in Feb. No side effects except a lowered immune system. but thats with almost anything.
- Prednisone Somewhat Helpful
- It works wonders but have all the awful side effects
- Zithromax Working / Worked
- So far it has helped my rheumatoid lung condition
