Close Kidney Stones
I've been suffering with chronic kidney stone disease for over 7 years. I have had 2 parathyroids removed, multiple lithotripsies, stents and 2 percutaneous nephrolithotomy in both kidneys and way too many ER trips, hospital stays & doctor visits.
Treatments
- Surgery Somewhat Helpful
- Had I had the percutaneous nephrolithotomy X 2 when first diagnosed with chronic kidney stone disease I would be much better off but because my local urologist had no idea what he was doing the damage is already done. Still I am glad I had it done since they were able to remove "hundreds" of stones from my kidneys. Better late than never!
- Flomax Working / Worked
- although not genereally used by woman, I am glad my doc put me on it. It relaxes the ureter & makes passing the stones easier
- Stents Working / Worked
- I have too many stents to count. Some as long as 6 months at a time (before changing it)I highly recommend them!
- Acupuncture Not Working
- I hadn't noticed a difference at first, on about the 10th visit while laying on my stomach w/needles in my back, neck, wrist, hands, ankles & feet. I felt the worst pain I have ever felt in my life in mt right kidney. I screamed & almost passed out - took four pain pills to "settle". I was messed up for weeks afterwardS - NEVER AGAIN!
- Oxycodone Working / Worked
- best thing I found for settling the pain, nothing takes it completely away
- Pamelor Working / Worked
- I know it helps settle the depression but I also believe it also helps with pain.
- Lexapro Working / Worked
- I take it for depression, at times I feel like it doesn't work but then if a miss a dose I see how much it really is working
- HCT Working / Worked
- Demerol Working / Worked
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- Naproxen Working / Worked
Close Endometriosis
I was diagnosed with endometriosis on top of chronic kidney stone disease. It seems like I am in some kind pain every day of the week anymore!

I have had 2 of my parathyroids removed back in 2001, since then I am no longer making kidney stones
