Hi guys, just got back from THE FIRST DATE. Ev called me this morningand asked me if I would like to have dinner with him tonight, after about 30 seconds of self debate I said sure. So he said he would pick me up at 6:45 and we would head out. He met me at the store at 6:45 on the dot. That was my idea, meeting at the store, even with my dogs, till I know he's really a good guy I dont want him to know where I live. Anyway, he's chattering non stop about how was my day, my week, blah blah blah. While he's driving, and finally I'm like where are we going, cause he was heading out in the boondocks and every alarm in me was going off! He looks over at me and grins and he said " Princess tonight we are dining at the top of the world." I said You mean the Edge OF THE WORLD? That a local resturant on the edge of cliff, but we werent going in the right direction. He just laughed and said JUst trust me, you are gonna love this. WE WENT ON A SUNSET HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE AND HAD A PICNIC IN THE AIR. Oh my God it was awesome, it was perfect, it was something I've always wanted to do since I was a kid. And he remembered from all those years ago that I wanted to see the mtns at sunset from a balloon. He didnt try to hold my hand or anything, he opened doors, and all the gentlemanly stuff. And when he got me back to my car he asked if he could have my cell # so he could call and make sure I got home safe.
I cant believe I did it. I went on a real date and didnt come home feeling guilty. Thats all thanks to you 3 angels. AND I HAD FUN. The balloon pilot, I guess thats the right term for the person flying it. Took a picture of us standing in the basket with the sunsetting behind us, I dont know what the altidtude was but it was way cool. I'll post the pic as soon as I get one. The guy said it would be Tuesday before he got the film developed and mailed.
I love you 3 gals you know this right? Without you girls to help me sort my thoughts and get straight on the path once more I would have missed a life long dream. The Balloon Ride, not the guy. But he was very sweet. Although I did threaten to toss him over the side, because of the Barbershop Quartet. He was oh so innocent acting about it, what are you talking bout woman, a barbershop quartet you say, nope I dont know a thing about that. Then I told him he needed to get out and start walking for fibbing to me. He just laughed and said he was talented but not enough to walk on air.
I had to write Jessica up at work, for neglecting her duties and staying on her cell phone at work, which is against company policy. She is so mad at me, but hey work is work and it was write her up or get wrote up myself for failing to enforce company policies, I hated it, but I did it.
Hope all is well with all you . Thanks again for everything guys. I do love ya.
David, Thank you for letting me know its ok, that I can still live here and be back with you one day on the otherside. I miss you and no matter what you will always be the one my heart belongs to. You took the last little bit of it with you when you left that day. And I'm glad, cause that means it can never be hurt again. Love you baby.

WOW!!! What an incredible awesome first date!!! This man has a poet's soul. Now what in the world could he possibly do to top that? It doesn't matter... whatever it is, I'll bet it will be something that takes your breath away. You better brace yourself. I think he's determined to win your trust and your heart. He obviously has good taste in women!
I know it was hard for you to write Jessica up, but you had to do it to protect your own job. And maybe she'll learn from it when she's done being mad.
Love, Jan

Hey Laura, what a date! And you lived to tell about it right? See, now that wasn't so bad, was it? Glad we all could help you finally give Prince Charming a chance. I wonder too, like Jan, what can he possibly do to top this? I think that David may have taken a piece of your heart when he left hon, but your heart is so big that I think there's enough to go around for all that love you - including all of us here on DS!
Thank you so much for your encouraging words. After writing what I did today I went back out and did some more cutting. I just kept telling myself that if I don't expect too much of myself then I won't be disappointed and anything that got done by the end of the day is more than what was done before I went out there. I love your offer to come and help but when I talked to Pam tonight she said you have to pick her up and bring her too.
I'm so happy you had a good time, Laura! You deserve it! Great big hugs, Judi

Wow, what a wonderful evening for you. I am so glad you went and had a good time. I give him one thing, he definetly knows how to treat a lady. And I know how hard it is to work with your children, I have actually had to fire both of mine at work. Sometimes it's hard to separate work from family. Have a great weekend, and can't wait to see the pics from your balloon flight, love ya, Pam
