Nickie, I too have been dx with M-proteins in my blood and they are slowly going up. Right now they are at 7.6% but that's only one band as I have 3 others with different percentages. Please see an oncologist soon...a bone marrow test really needs to be done. Right now I also am not receiving tx. Take care and keep in touch. Hugs, Monica
my mother has just been diagnosed and is in arkansas for treatment right now. my thoughts and prayers are with you
Nickie I agree with jamie for you to see a specialist for myeloma. Did u get a 2nd opinion? My mom was 47 when she was diagnosed with multiple myeloma and they never said a thing about it growing slowly. You should get as much info as you can. Did they call it myeloma or multiple myeloma? There is a Dr. Hussein at the Cleveland Clinic who has specialized with this disease for almost 25 years. My mom went to him for a 2nd opinion and he agreed with the 1st and also her protocol for treatment. Please seriously pursue this as it could save u alot of sickness and even your life. Alicia
Please make sure you see a MM specialist. They know best. Take care.
