I was first diagnosed with colitis in 2006. However, the diagnosis was "certain" after my last scope in Jan 2008. The whole thing remains new to me. I'm here to learn from others about how to live with this disease. I'm married and we have two dogs and a cat. I have a masters degree in clinical psychology and I have worked in public mental health for 13 years. I am fortunate to have an administrative job at the moment.

I love animals and would have many more if we could afford them. I enjoy running and yoga. I love good food and truely enjoy cooking. I also have a new interest in energy healing.

I only have IBS and I've had it over 20 years now and sometimes yes, I am awakened during the night with cramping and the diarrhea. I know a lot of people say that certain foods trigger it, but I don't have to eat anything or be doing anything for it to occur. I think that mine is mainly due to stress so I never know when it will strike. Your symtoms just maybe the IBS. I wonder if whoever writes the articles about illnesses and diseases have ever REALLY experienced any of the pain and symtoms to know exactly what all the symtoms are and know what we go through on a daily basis. Good luck to you and I hope that you are better real soon.
Thanks for the hug- I see your just "okay" is that the uc or life in general? I have hihg hopes for 2009- I'm certain it's the year I'll get "me" back! Any special plans or goals for you?
Thanks for the hug... I guess maybe I just need to try and be patient a bit longer...just sick and tired of being sick and tired! I know- who here isn't? Hope you're having a good week-end.
Here is a great big hug for you.
just to say hi and to wish you well.
I was diagnosed with colitis 4 years ago.
I have had IBS since I was a child. I was also diagnosed with IBD about 5-6 years ago. I am sure that I have both.
