Close Breast Cancer
Stage: IV (M1)

At 36 years old, I found a very large lump while nursing my 4th child. As of today, I have had a mastectomy and reconstruction, been through hell and came out the other side stronger than ever. My cancer isn't moving, and new bone is growing in where the bone tumors were. I do however have to have a hysterectomy soon, but God and I can handle that too.

Treatments

Chemotherapy Working / Worked

Because I am stage 4, my chemo was less aggressive. I was pretty tired, but otherwise ok.

Herceptin Working / Worked

I have had no side effects from the Herceptin at all.

Mastectomy Working / Worked

Radiotherapy Working / Worked

I had radiation to the tumor in my pelvis, which was very sucessful. Then I had it on my skull and neck vertebrae, which worked, but left me with some nasty throat burns.

Reconstructive Surgery Working / Worked

I had an expander, then the silicone implant. They also lifted and put an implant in my good side. Looks great, and I felt fine in a few days! (ask me how if you want to know)

Surgery Working / Worked

Clear margins on the mastectomy! Takes a while to get full movement back, though, and I still can't feel much in that area.

Close Teen Anxiety

I'm older now, but I did have anxiety attacks for quite some time. I am now helping my 16 year old son deal with them. My sister and brother also have dealt with the anxiety and panic. Every single one of us has helped with diet change, because we are all hypoglycemic, and it caused varying reactions in each of us.
