I was trying to write something about someone that I am starting to like. I was looking at a blank screen and the verses started coming. I guess they came out this way because I am still fustrated because my stbx still hasn't severed ties with me but I want to be rid of her. Either way, this poem came out and with a little editing it has a good flow to it. Let me know what you think.
THere will probably be a little more editing to be done to the poem but I really like the second stanza. It is just very powerful and it has a nice smack behind it.
Healing After Heartbreak

Now that you’ve seen that I have healed
I have moved on and found my life
Yet you still try to exert your will
You are no longer my wife
You thought that I couldn’t live without you
I am doing just fine
Yet you wish for me to serve you
Have you lost your mind
My life is now mine and mine alone
And now us is I and I alone
My ties to you are fading
It is my destiny I own
You guided me to the brink
I came back from the dead
And soon I will be gone
A name not spoken, a name not said
Do not toil in my life any longer
Do not stay around wanting to talk
We can not be friends
For you are the one who decided to walk
Yet you can’t totally walk away
You take and take and take some more
But one day this will all be over
And we will never be as we were before

This is awesome! You captured perfectly the feeling that comes from having someone decide that they no longer want to give you what they signed up for but they still want you to give and give and give. Theirs is a point of view I will never understand.
