DVT in left leg and massive bilateral PEs in late May 2008. At the time, I had been on birth control for about 6 months. Spent 5 days in the hospital and had an IVC filter placed. I'm now on Coumadin (Warfarin). I have my INR taken every two weeks and see a hematologist regularly. Blood tests showed that I have Antiphospholipid Syndrome (Lupus Anticoagulant) – but my doctor thinks it could be a false positive. Going to be tested again in June if I can be taken off Coumadin temporarily.
