Today has been a day of improvements, thank goodness. Rachel's ANC has jumped from a grand total of 30 yesterday, to 410 today, largely thanks to GCSF shots, so we are hoping she can start to fight off this cold! On that topic, her cultures came back negative for a bacterial infection, so it looks like 'just' a cold/flu bug that has been going around (as if cancer isn't enough!!).
With this news, the doctor went ahead and did the spinal tap with chemo (that chemo is not count dependent) this afternoon. We will know how her spinal fluid is looking in a couple of days.
I just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou, from the whole family, for the responses to yesterday's message - they brought tears to my eyes. We are so grateful there are many people thinking of our daughter.
Thankyou once again for your continued prayers and messages. Check out the little pic of Rach I put up :)
Love Linda
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
RACHEL (to a new trainee nurse): "Having cancer pretty much sucks ... ... but on the bright side, I have the coolest pyjama wardrobe out of anyone I know!"
