I have a psych appointment tomorrow. It's not with my own psych although it is a three month appointment. It's with one of his students, I guess. Kinda wish it were with him, Dr D is a good psychiatrist. Understanding, but firm. He lets me invite ideas into my treatment, but recognises when I am unwell and takes full control. I've fought his ideas many times before because of immaturity and through clouded judgement ie illness. I saw one of his students last time too, so I was expecting to see Dr D this time. Also, I've been feeling unstable mentally for a month or so, and knowing this app was due, I held out. But Dr D can read me even if I cannot say what is wrong, I've seen him for probably 8 years now and so he knows my background etc. Student Dr's don't have all that insight. I'll just have to do my best to explain things. My problem is I get defensive, and hostile towards medical professionals. So if I'm not feeling very talkative tomorrow it could be a problem. I've written a few notes down to prompt me, and I can always just hand them to the psych I see.
Next month I have two appointments. Both on the same day as well eeksa. I have Podiatry, because my foot has been excrusiatingly painful for months now. It started out as just my big toe hurting, but spread to the second and little toes, and up the sides od my feet. Part of the top of my foot feels like it has electric pulses running through it, and that goes into either side of the front of my foot. The underneigth ball and arch hurts terribly too. I've been dx so many different things, first, tested for gout - negative. Then the gp said it was an infected ingrown toenail so I had antibiotics, then another said I'd pulled a ligament, and then I was told that I was suffering from a nerve condition where the nerves are registering pain when there is no pain. Basically no-one knows so I've been referred to Podiatry.
And yeehaa my referral to Rheumatology is finally here, the same day as Podiatry. That'll be fun then, I'll be exhausted (more so should I say) than normal when I arrive because of my earlier app. But I don't want to cancel either because I've waited ages for both app. Hopefully Rheumatology will start to look into whether I do have M.E. or not.... we wait...
