I may have a lot of problems, but I also have a lot to be thankful for, so I am a happy person! I have bipolar illness, tinnitus, spinal stenosis, torticollis and ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). Fortunately, all of these problems are being treated medically with various degrees of success. I may be profoundly disabled, but I make the best of the situation. I may only have the use of one finger, but I composed 20 songs last year, and I've just released a piano rock CD called "Toxic Charm" (you can listen to and purchase this CD at my website). I may be in power wheelchair, but that doesn't keep me from going out and doing what I want to do. People often tell me that I am an inspirational person. I don't know about that, but I do know that anyone can achieve their dreams, no matter what the circumstances are.

I was diagnosed February, 2005. I was devastated, and spent the next 6 months severely depressed. Then, a member of my religious institution's clergy got me involved in the community, and I started writing music.
Diagnosed bipolar 1989, Spinal Cord Injury 1998, Diagnosed with ALS in February 2005. I write music. I run a popular humor site that made me the first person to sell pork rinds on the Internet. I started writing songs a year ago. My music is "evocative piano-driven Alt/Indie for people facing tough times" with lyrical themes of "tough situations, and challenging and working through them" My goal is to leave behind a meaningful musical legacy. My music is at http://www.acenoface.com
I developed this disorder through unwise lifestyle choices. I listen to music with headphones, even when mowing the lawn, and I had been playing as a rock musician for a long time
