I am still in sunny, Florida and this is my 3rd day in a row with my younger son, John. We are at my other son, Adrian's , home in Kissimmee and will be going back up to Interlachen where John lives this afternoon and I will leave to go back to Tennessee from there in the morning. I feel so useless and frustrated with John's medical situation. I'm sure that I've mentioned that he has VERY bad sleep apnea for which he is supposed to use the cpap machine when he sleeps. Well, he doesn't, because when he's able to work, he doesn't hear the telephone or alarm go off to wake him up and his wife leaves for work a couple hours before him. You might say ' have her wake him up so he'll get up before she leaves'. That's impossible beause all he has to do is sit down a few minutes and he'll fall right back in a sleep. One of the other things that I'm concerned about his health with besides the loss of his index finger, is his breathing even when he is awake. You can sit of the opposite side of the room from him and still hear him breathing even when he is awake. He has no medical insurance as I said when their son was killed in the auto accident the week before Thanksgiving and I can only do so much with my lack of funds and that isn't much. I'm afraid that John is not going to live a very long life due to his respiratory problems. With sleep apnea we know that he doesn't get oxygen to the brain during the periods that he doesn't breath. At this point I don't know which way to turn other than to God and ask for intervention. I'm so afraid that when I go back to my home in Tennessee that I won't see him alive again!
Now something has also happened to my shoulder. Anyone with rotator cuff problems please let me know what the symptoms are!!!

I am praying for your son right now "Lord hear my prayer for John. Lord he has been through more than most people go through in their lifetime. Lord heal his finger and let him have complete use of it again! Also Lord, Heal his breathing difficulties. Lord breathe healing into his lungs so he will not have to use his machine at night and will be able to wake up for work in the morning. You know his struggles Lord and his needs. God bless his mother who is so concerned about him. God protect her on her way back to Tennessee. Keep her safe from harm and heal her shoulder pain too! God I ask this of you in Jesus' mighty name! Take care of yourself on the drive. As for John I would tell him to use the CPAP anyhow. Is he still working with his finger? If not what is wrong if he doesn't get up soon enough. I would also try the Sleep apnea group about suggestions they may have to wake him up. I also have sleep apnea but I don't have any trouble waking up. Maybe he is on a wrong setting or something. To bad he can't go back to the Dr. and have it checked.

I sent you a huga also. But I can't urge you enough to try & get your son to use that machine. My friend said she had to try about 10 masks before she got the right one. Her breath was just like that. Now she walks up flights of stairs like it's nothing. She couldn't do anything like that before. Could he fit one of those ear telephones on with the mask? I really don't know that much about the masks but my husband has threatened me more than once to go see about one. But I need to lose weight so bad. This awful gain has made me snore louder than ever & I do wake myself up. I thought I might talk to the throat specialist first. I don't think I could sleep with anything over my face. Stupid I know but it is part of feeling claustraphobic. If he has anything new to tell me I will let you know.

The support group idea sounds like it might his ticket out of his present situation. I'll bet there are quite a few online.... Is it possible for him to get charity care at a non profit hospital? I also heard something about a medical insurance that works by giving discounts. I get the feeling that your place is living where he is, for more than one reason right now. Is that at all feasible? If necessary, could he join you in Tenn.? You are going to make yourself sick with worry if you two don't team up somehow. I wish you luck, and quickly at this point!

Remember I said he might not hear you now? Well, that's when we turn it over to God who loves John even more than you do. Lift him up to Jesus' tender loving care and relax. I hope you had a safe trip home.
