Have had migraines since I was 16. Nothing helped prophylactically. Now take Axert at first sign and it gets rid of it.
Have spinal stenosis. Had Kyphoplasty after a car wreck in 2004 but didn't work.Had unsuccessful laminectomy in July 2006. Had another surgery in June 2008 of "X-Stop"procedure with titanium. Pain returned 3 weeks later.
I think that I'm my own worse enemy when it comes to my blood pressure. When it was first diagnosed, it was 238/138; no symptoms, no headaches, dizziness, etc. Now I am on 4 different medications and it still goes up some when I get stressed, which I usually go.
I was first diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 1991, then told that I had something else systemic going on and also diagnosed with systemic lupus. YES, I have chronic headaches!! I have chronic pain, tendonitis, and everything else that goes along with it. I don't sleep well. I go to sleep but not for long and then the pain wake me up. It can be very depressing as I can't work anymore and was used to working as a nurse sometimes 60 hours a week.
I was diagnosed with chronic depression at 14 and bipolar at 35. Now have good support systems and medication. No longer suicidal
My 80 yr. old mother depends on me for transportation, administering her medication, helping manage her finances, and calls me on the phone every day. (We live 3 miles apart). I have chronic physical illnesses and don't feel that I can handle all of this. I have a brother who lives the same distance from her who doesn't help and one who just retired and lives about 8 hours from here and comes at Christmas. It doesn't help my personal life with my husband either.
I have been diagnosed with bipolar for about 30 years, probably longer. I don't cycle very rapidly anymore, but aren't the "highs" fun?? Have better support system now.
I'm on my 5th marriage and am not sure that I was meant to be married at all.
I already have lupus, asthma, osteoarthritis, hypothroid, degenerative joint disease, bipolar and chronic depression to name a few and then last month my opthamologist diagnosed me with early glaucoma. It is VERY hereditary in my family on my mother's side. He just started me on Alrex eye drops. Has anyone ever heard of these? I had a cataract removed 7 yr. ago.
I was a nurse in a former life before I hurt my neck on the job,got diagnosed with fibromyalgia, then lupus, high blood pressure, hypothyroid, arthritis and then chronic pain. My biggest problem is my lower back and legs.
I developed low thyroid when I developed systemic lupus.
I developed this when I developed Fibromyalgia
I was diagnosed in 1991 but,being a nurse myself, I diagnosed myself in 1984.
My best friend of 37 yrs. who is 56 has COPD and cannot eat and breath at the same time but is still smoking.
I have this disease and had to have artificial joint replacement of both big toes. It has worked good.
I'm 54y.o female who has taken Prednisone for 18 yrs. and was diagnosed yesterday with osteoporosis. Had osteopenia for about 4 yrs.I broke my ankle 2 yrs. ago.
My 16 yr. old grandson was killed in a car wreck Nov,20,2008.He would have been 17 today, Nov.24th.He was on his way back from a youth Thanksgiving program and the driver of the car was also killed along with her daughter who died 3 days later. One boy is in critical condition. The woman who was driving the truck who hit them got a DUI. The pregnant woman in the truck with her is in critical care also.
I am a 54y.o. female with several chronic diseases and it seems that I'm just mad at the whole world a lot including my husband which in turn gets him stressed and we end up yelling things at each other that neither of us mean then that makes things even worse. I spend so much of my time thinking about ways to get out on my own but then I know that's not really what I want to do. He needs to deal with his anger which I'm sure has been a lifelong problem also. I didn't use to be this way.
