Well, I survived the injection. LOL! The dr. only did one knee (the right) because for some reason my insurance wouldn't pay for 2 at a time. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was though. I thank God for all of my friends who thought of me, gave me words of support, and lifted me up in prayers. I know that God was taking care of me. Being scared always seems to make things worse. And I just need to keep remembering that God did NOT make a spirit of fear.
I'm having the left knee injected next Thursday.
My husband took me and was sitting/ reading a golf magazine as the dr started the procedure. I had to ask him to please come hold my hand. He was really interested in an article. LOL! It's so funny how most guys and gals are different. At least he didn't make any comments when the tears came after it was all over. (relieved, I guess)
The dr said that this could help me up to 6 months, and then I could have it again until it didn't help anymore. I hope that this can help me put off knee replacement surgery for a long while.

I thank god that you did not need the ER. LOL. I guess he wanted to make sure it would work before doing the other one. Or the insurance did.
I am glad that you did so well.

So happy that everything went well. And I know....men are just not equipped with enough of the compassion gene! I hope you get the full six months of relief with this one.
Big Hugs!

Sadie, I live in Seattle and you live near my mother. I'm originally from New Orleans. My mom lives in Nicholson/Picayune, MS with my sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephews. We're all active Christians who give a lot of time to social justice issues and our church communities because that is the way we understand God's love. In my mind as a displaced Southerner and your "sister" in Christ, (smiling) this makes us "family".
So please understand that on DailyStrength we're absolute strangers and I'm about to speak to you as though you are my sister despite that fact.
I suffered in absolute agony with suspected diagnoses of FM &/or CF and osteoarthritis. In my case the first 2 at least were incorrect. Even if in your case, they are correct, I have a burning desire to share my journey with you.
The pain and fatigue I experienced drained the joy out of my life. I researched and questioned doctors for 3 1/2 years until I was close to giving up. I kept getting the message that this was not "God's best for my life."
Like you, I felt guilty for being afraid, I also felt guilty for being sick with all I'd learned about God's healing. Then God anointed a specialist to discover something in my blood work that no one else had investigated. My Vitamin D levels were so low that this deficiency caused me to hurt all over. The pain didn't respond to NSAIDS or typical pain management techniques. I fell often. I had a condition not unlike "fibro fog" and depression and despair. When megadose Vitamin D therapy was started (50,000 IU once per week) for the Vitamin D deficiency, my life turned around.
Then the Lord led me to seek out a personal trainer to teach me to swing Russian Kettlebells. In my mind, I was being led to find a hobby to meet my life goals of living God's plan for my health. I wanted a distraction while the Vitamin D therapy had time to work. (Some patients report pain extending 6 months to 1 year past restored blood levels while the body learns to utilize Vitamin D again and because the pain comes from Bone and Muscle cells and not from injured tissues.)
God had something even better in store for me. I hired a woman who had been RKC certified as a Kettlebell instructor and also had been certified in a cutting edge form of movement assessment/physical therapy that re-educates the nervous system, restores lost mobility and repairs stability. Informed by the latest developments in neuroscience, Z Health has been a little known secret of elite athletes and Kettlebell enthusiasts.
After years of being in an agony that neither physicians nor prayer and fasting had resolved, in one 15 minute lesson, I experienced a 50% reduction in pain. Subsequent treatments/lessons have helped me to live 90% pain free. I believe that in only a few more weeks/months, I will be able to testify that the root causes of my pain will be entirely gone leaving me in complete 100% freedom from once crippling pain and extreme fatigue.
Please feel free to read my journal entries from May and June (skipping the rather boring Food Logs that are part of my homework for my personal trainer). You'll feel the difference in my body and spirit as the rapid healing takes place. I learned growing up there that to whom much is given, much is required. I feel responsible for sharing my experience with anyone whom it might help. If you are interested in more details just message me and I'll give you the links to the Z Health certified folk in your area and the Vitamin D info. I'll be saying a prayer for your complete healing and total freedom from disease and disability and giving thanks for you and with you every step along the way, whatever works for you.
In His Service,
RW
