Hi, my name is Dawn and I've recently been diagnosed with IC which I'm having so much trouble coming to terms with and would like to chat to others with the same problem. I'm a spiritualist and really believe there is purpose in everything and am really trying to find the positive experience in this. I'm a really positive person and am a motivational speaker at times so it's hard feeling like it's all too much sometimes but encouraging others to be strong and grow themselves.

I’m With You
Hi DawnZ, Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone. I also suffer from IC as well, mine is moderate & I have pain if I drink anything at all even with something as simple like water. I have other conditions that add to my dibilating condition which are Endometriosis, tortuous colon, & scar tissue. Please let me know how you handle your IC & maybe we can trade notes on how to deal with this awful disease. Take Care... your friend, peachybean

are you on the Elmiron yet? I dont know anything about macrodantin. My doc hasnt put me on that Before I was diagnosed I "thought" I had alot of infections but every Dr said it wasnt an infection and they didnt know what it was. I have been doing fine now that I am on the Elmiron, but may have to go off as I am losing my hair. I am following the diet also and I do feel alot better since doing so. Hope you get feeling better and here a great big hug Laura

Close Interstitial Cystitis (IC)
Recently diagnosed with IC. I don't really understand "flares" as my condition just seems to be one long bladder infection feeling although obviously it's not an infection, it's IC. I've just had a highly sensitive blood test to check my food sensitivities as diet apparently plays a big role but so far I'm not convinced, I've cut down on alcohol, cheese, tomato, bread and on an on and I can't seem to feel a difference at all. it's also worse at night?? Any opinions on this would be great
Treatments
- Macrobid Working / Worked
- I've used the Macrodantin for about a month and a half now and it's defn working, have had relief for the first time in 8 months but then must admit that anti-biotics did the same anyway. Side-effects are bad skin and ongoing fuzzy headache which went away immed when I stopped the medication for a few days but then immediately the feeling of an infection came back so I'm back on it again.
