    • About Me

I'm a mother of 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren. Also I step daughter and 1 step son. I was a nurse when I used to work, but I haven't worked since 1993. I suffer from migraines and chronic pain from having to have my tailbone removed. I also suffer from depression and kidney stones on a regular basis. Weak ankles due to reapeat breakage and I need a walker to hold my balance.

    • Hug

      From star11 August 20

It seems as times are very difficult for you both. Keep strong for each other. I am already praying. Did your husband get that job? Your ankles are giving you such a hard time. That must be difficult to accept.

Praying that you get some good news.

      Love
      Claire

    • Close Bipolar Disorder

I was first diagnosed in 1979 at 28yrs, but after a manic followed by a depression, I remained stable without meds and working until 1999, when a series of events led me to another manic attack. I ended a marriage of 29yrs...not sure if that was really a good thing though. Since 1999 I've been mostly depressed with only short hypomanic attacks.

      Treatments

      Ativan Working / Worked
Sublingual, works for panic on an irregular basis.
      Depakote Not Working
      Couldn't function
      Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Somewhat Helpful
Very hard to keep back that negative thinking
      Group Therapy Not Working
I'm not too good in a group environment.
      Lithium Not Working
      Caused thryroid problems
      Risperdal Working / Worked
Worked well, but caused jerking of my limbs after about 8yrs. I had to give it up.
      Seroquel Not Working
      Couldn't take - couldn't function
      Topamax Working / Worked
Also helps with my migraines. Doesn't help with anxiety though
      Wellbutrin Working / Worked
Taken it for about 9yrs, helps somewhat and I quit smoking after taking it a few weeks, a great side effect.
      Clonazepam Working / Worked
Really helps with the anxiety but doesnt stop it altogetherand its very addictive.
    • Close Kidney Stones

I have been passing kidney stones on a regular basis for many years. I have been told it is because I have a low citrate level. I'm lucky so far they have been small enough to pass without too much of a problem, by that I mean surgery NOT PAIN....I presently have 3 according to my latest CAT scan.
