About Me
I am a 53 year old grandmother raising my 9 year old granddaughter. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 1993. I am a US Army Veteran. There was evidence that I had Lupus during my Military Career as far back as 1989 when my platelets dropped below 150K. I have good days and not so good days. I also have hypothyroidism and RA. I try to stay positive and not get stressed because I refuse to let these ailments get me down.

Close Grandparents Raising Children
I am a 53 year old grandmother raising my 9 year old granddaughter. I have been a part of my granddaughter's life since she was born. She is the daughter of my only child (my son. Her mother was 11 years older than my son at the time with 3 children being raised by other members of her family. My son decided in 2005 to just "disappear". Last year in April my granddaughter's mother practically "gave" her to me. I now have temporary custody of my granddaughter indefinitely.
