I am a mom of 2 wonderful children. My youngest is 3. She got her diagnosis in December. Some days are better than others but the one lesson that she has taught me is to never take the little things in life for granted. Her big sister is 10. She is a huge help.

hello and welcome from asheville north carolina. i have a ten year old boy with high functioning autism. feel free to jump right in. a lot of good people here on this site. I use melatonin for my son for sleeping. it's a natural sleep aide, twenty minutes before bed and he sleeps thru the night.

My 3yr old was diagnosed in Dec.2007. I still feel just as confused today as when I got her diagnosis. The most important thing that I have learned is to never take the little things in life for granted.
Treatments
- Early Intervention Working / Worked
- She had in-home help through our local parent infant program over last summer. She started in the public school system in Oct.2007. I have noticed a huge difference in her social skills.
- Picture / Word Schedules Too Soon to Tell
- She just started using a pic exchange book. I made one for her at home by taking actual pics of her favorite things.
- Sign Language Working / Worked
- She just started to learn some simple signs. She uses more on a constact basis.
