Sleep and Anxiety Mood
Thursday, August 7, 2008 | An Anxious story

Someone started a discussion the other day about whether or not there is a relationship between the amount of sleep you get and anxiety.  I'm not sure what came first the insomnia or the anxiety, but I am certain there's a relationship.  I was up several times during the night (in spite of my blessed Ambien-CR) and I'm just a little anxious today.  Not a lot but I notice the difference.

Went to the grocery store today in anticipation of my son coming home tomorrow.  Can hardly wait to see him.  There's a barbecue festival in a neighboring town and so we'll be going to that on Saturday.  Yum yum.

I think there is definitely a relationship. I am tense when I lay down to sleep although I can fall asleep and stay asleep but before anxiety I didn't have any issues. The worse part is I think one causes the other and vice versa. Kind of a chicken, egg scenario.
