Journal Entry for January 17, 2008 Mood
Thursday, January 17, 2008
Well I am doing pretty good today.  My head is achy, but I am dealing with it.  I can't believe it is already Thursday!  Almost the weekend wooohoooo!  I have been getting lots of hugs from people on this site and it is wonderful.  Im so happy to meet new people and make friends with other people who suffer with the same disabilities that I do.Laughing

Learning to live inside your energy envelope is key to recovery. One friend puts marbles in a bowl to visualize her days supply of energy, then as she does something she moves a marble(s), to another bowl depnding on how much energy she expended. The idea is to still have marbles (energy) at the end of the day. It gives you permission to not push through the tiredness and pain, but to rest when you need to. I have been trying it since I learned it about 6 weeks ago, and it helps. It especially does away with all the guilt we heap on ourselves and helps us to accept our limitations. They say if you do this consistently you will recover up to 70% of your old energy...but pushing through causes setbacks.

That's a great idea, keepingon. I always think that we have x amount of energy to use in any given day, and that no matter how we use it, be that physically, emotionally or spritually, it's being used. This is helping me to see where my energy goes and to not totally deplete myself. A hard lesson to learn!!

Thanks for the hug, lolabell! I came here to thank you and got this great visualization as a bonus. xx
