High Five
Sunday Cheers!! It's been a while since I have done this, but am going to share some Quotes from Bear Bryant, who was 'THE Coach' in Bama Land for a longgggggggg time......Bear was considered a Winner by those who knew him: "When you make a mistake, admit it; learn from it and don't repeat it." "You never know how a horse will pull until you hook him to a heavy load." "The first time you quit, it's hard. The second time, it gets easier. The third time, you don't even have to think about it." "Show class, have pride and display character. If you do, winning takes care of itself." "There's no substitute for guts." "Never quit. It is the easiest cop-out in the world. Set a goal and don't quit until you attain it. When you do attain it, set another goal, and don't quit until you reach it. Never quit." “It's not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog” “In life, you'll have your back up against the wall many times. You might as well get used to It.” "Tough times don't last, but tough people do." "Losing doesn't make me want to quit. It makes me want to fight that much harder." "Be aware of "yes" men. Generally, they are losers. Surround yourself with winners. Never forget - people win." "In a crisis, don't hide behind anything or anybody. They're going to find you anyway." During these days of Tough Times, let's hope we prevail as being Tough & Strong, with the Will to Win & with Common Sense. Our World is in Economic Crisis. It would be my prayer that everyone pulls his load; never lived through the Great Depression, and don't want to start now. We need to WIN!! Happy Sunday and Prayers for a Good Week ahead.

Good you stay on top of stuff. I cannot believe how many drs there are out there who think once a year is a good enough time. I had one, then I fired his sorry ass. Then I finally wound up with a provider who actually cared, and so far have been fairly lucky with finding the right drs etc, except for Pdocs...have a short list I can choose from and I did not like the one I had. She asked ME...what do you think is wrong with you? Well duhhhhh I am just the dumb patient, you are the psychiatrist...needless to say she was worthless. So I get by the best I can with what I have and a drink every now and then suits me fine.

Close High Cholesterol
I have Hyperlipidimia IIA...I take vytorin 80 zocor/10 zetia plus an aspirin per day. My LDL is too high and my HDL is over 60, so that is GREAT. I am very interested in others' experience and support.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- If I eat VERY high cholesterol diet, my cholesterol will go up. Diet alone will not lower my lipid levels.
- Vytorin Working / Worked
Close Psoriasis
Affected Areas: Psoriasis of the SkinI have psoriasis which was diagnosed about 10 years ago when I was 51 or so - my dad had this, so I am sure it is hereditary. Lucky for me, I only have it (so far) on my scalp and have had it on my elbows.
Treatments
- Hydrocortisone Working / Worked
- Definitely clobestid worked. Miraculously so.
Open Bereavement
I have lost both parents, favorite uncle, favorite cousin, best friend and now my aunt. I am ok, and I am thinking I am dealing with this, but I think I do need some support. This latest loss has just made it clear to me that losing those we love so much is a part of living.
Treatments

- Poetry Working / Worked
- WRote a poem when my mom died and it was published in the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition magazine. I was proud of it, and writing it and rereading it has helped with my loss of my mom. I have written poems about my Dad, and this is also very good for me.

- This is what we need in order to get used to the loss.
Open Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) DepressionI am just wondering if anyone else has had muscle pain/muscle spasms when decreasing effexor or as withdrawal symptom.
Treatments
- Effexor Working / Worked
- The effexor worked, but now as I am better, and as a dose of 75 mg per day caused high blood pressure, I am weaning down and have soe pretty annoying muscle pain and spasms in my legs.
Open High Blood Pressure
My blood pressure was usually LOW, but recently I was taking an antidepressant Effexor, and it became elevated. It is now still a bit high - it ranges from 118/75 - 139/82. I also have high cholesterol and am concerned that I will have to be put on medication for this blood pressure elevation also. I need some support as this is new to me.
Treatments
- Avoid Certain Foods / Chemicals Working / Worked
- Lowered antidepressant and it seemed to have helped.
