About Me
I am 44 single with a 16 year old son. I am a paediatric nurse working in neonatal care. Very bad at being ill! Nurses make the worst patients is certainly true. Although was diagnosed 3 months ago I am having more physical symptoms now than I did then. Just reading some of the postings so far has answered far more questions than any other source. You all sound so positive Kate

Hi Kate, Bless you, thanks fo rthe hug! I'm just a bit fed up...as now i've been told i have some "heart issues" and am waiting to see a cardiologist...i'm just fed up of always waiting for appointments and not having any answers...boohoo! Like you, it's over a year since the PEs and i just kinda hoped that i'd be doing a lot better than this by now! nevermind hey! how are you doing? good i hope! lovely to hear from you xxx

That's very true, it's a bit of a mixed feeling. I'm relieved but also a teeny bit resentful. My haematologist was such a character today, he was so down to earth and cracking jokes How are you feeling now? xx

Hi Kate, aw so sorry to hear you're feeling poorly! that's rubbish, and i'm really hoping you are feeling better very soon! am glad your GP is investigating though...am hoping you get some answers very soon! it's awful when you don't know what's going on and why! keep me posted on how you are getting on! thanks for the luck - will try and remember to listen out for Mrs...it's definately taking some getting used to, haha xxx

Hi Kate, so sorry for my late reply! I know what you mean - today is my PE anniversary...and i definately feel a little weird about it...i guess that's mostly because when i was lying in hospital a year ago - i never ever thought that i would be still worrying about PEs a year later! it's so rubbish how they totally consume every part of your life hey! apart from that - am doing ok thanks...going to see the respiratory consultant on wednesday, so will see what happens there! definately loving married life tho - although it is a little strange being called Mrs! How are you today??? good i hope! xxx

Close Pulmonary Embolism
Hi I am 44 years old and a nurse in Neonatal unit. It came as a conplete shock to me to be diagnosed with extensive bilateral PE 11 weeks ago. I was not very unwell just short of breath. Treatment was with clexane injection followed by dailly warfarin as used in uk. I too have been surprised at the lack of information. Having felt minimal pain initially I was hit with it a couple of weeks ago and panicked a bit. Anyone else had this experience especially anyone with multiple PE Kate
