I am currently separated and going through mediation. I was the one who initiated the separation because our lives just seemed to be going in different directions and I was very unhappy. I gave the relationship nearly 20 years and was unhappy for alot of them but hung in there thinking if I gave it a little more time, it might get better.

Close Breakups & Divorce
I have been separated for a year now. I feel so terrible for being the party that initiated the separation and am having alot of trouble dealing with it. I just felt I couldn't stay any longer with a person I had so little in common with anymore.
Treatments
- Couples Counseling Not Working
- he wasn't willing to try, all he wanted to do was point the finger and throw me under the bus so to speak. I was devastated because I knew it was our last hope.
- Time Not Working
- kept telling myself to give it another year, it will get better, but it didn't
- Support from Friends & Family Somewhat Helpful
- It helps, but they really can't know what I am going through because they have not experienced it themselves.
- Pilates Working / Worked
- Seems to help me relax and let go of of stress.
- Meditation Working / Worked
- Recently added this to my daily routine. So far, so good.
- Laughter Working / Worked
- They say it is the best medicine, and they are right!
