Close Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Type: Relapsing-remitting MSM.S. diagnosed 3/06,Treted w/Avonex for 2 years,until I realized I was losing my mind(LOL).Now treating w/copaxone and loving life and sunshine again.I dislike those damn itchy lumps,but not resembling Powder is the smallest plus.I was depressed for 9-10 months,overloaded w/self pity following my diagnosis, very infrequently fall into that mindset.I am a recovering person with 14 years clean in search of other recovering persons with combined illnesses.I am blessed to still be fully functional.
Treatments
- Avonex Working / Worked
- No exaserbations,but mentally-anger plagued ,depression out of nowhere,forgetful.Physically-I could not make plans,wilted in the sun/heat,balance was off,if I closed my eyesI would sway or stumble.
- Copaxone Working / Worked
- Started treatment 6/08 and spent the summer on the beach!!Rarely getting tired and not feeling fatigued since I began.Occasionally I'll forget a word or function I was about to perform.Can't praise this change high enough.I am able to walk as long as I want,sunbathe hike, climb.My relationships are back where They were before I got sick.I'm no longer subject to lasting depression or foul moods for no reason.I haven't woken up a single day feeling anything but grateful.
