I was sooo bored with my old excercise routine that I had started to slack on my excercising all together. I found that i just wasn't as motivated as I used to be. I really didn't enjoy it anymore, so i just stopped doing it, and when I did do it, I didn't give it my all. I was feeling just...blah when it came to working out. So i said to myself, I said, "Self, what are we gonna do about this working out thing?" Then it hit me-Sunshine;walking! That's it, I'll walk and run. Sunshine seems to love it and she is losing weight in the process. I was sooo psyched last night when I went to bed about getting up today and walking.
I got up around 10 and ran some errands and then came home all ready to walk. Before i could walk though, i had to put air in my daughter's tires on her bike because I had been promising her for weeks that I would. Well after I brought her bike back home, I went to try it out just so I could show her just how it's done. I got on that bike and I was flying! It felt sooo good. That was it! Bike riding. My son has two bikes, so My Husband went and pumped up the tires on one of his bikes and I was off!
I went up hills, down hills, around corners, around the track and down the street. It was sooo much fun. The only bad part is that it's not enough cushion on the bike for my booty, so my rear is very sore right now, but that's o.k. My thighs were burning soooo bad. Let me tell you, anyone who says that High Impact Cardio is easier than riding a bike is a doggone liar!!!! Maybe it's easier if you have a ten speed where you can switch gears if you're going up a hill, but on a regular dirt bike...HUH!
I know I'm gonna be sore in the morning, but I'm happy about that because I haven't had that good sore feeling in a a minute. It confused me because I do squats all the time, but this was sooo different. This was hard core and I love it. I haven't been on a bike since I was a child. Man it was like flying in the wind. I told ya'll Jillian said that when you push yourself, you force the body to change. I pushed myself today. Jacki from Bravo's "Workout" says that if it's not burning, then it's not working. I was BURNING!
I'm doing it again tomorrow. Yeah!

I love bike riding!!! This is what got me back into enjoying exercise and not viewing it as a chore---and girl it is a high impact work-out. After only a few weeks of bike riding, I started seeing major definition change in my abs--which I never see any change in b/c of having c-sections. Bike riding is awesome, and it is a LOT of fun!! It does bring you back to childhood and that feeling of freedom while you're flying along. I knew the first time that I went riding that it was my new 'thing.' And I still am loving it! Plus it's given my dog and son some much needed exercise.
P.S. They have these great bike seats at Wal-Mart for about ten bucks--they are for us babygotbacks--and have gel cushioning so you can avoid that wedged-in-ur-butt feeling that reg bike seats have. Totally worth the investment--you don't have to stop b/c your behind hurts.

Fighter~ Good looking out on the bike seat. My booty is sooo sore, but it was well worth it.

Oh LadyBleu....talk about sore! Darlin I just got home from that 5K...yep I finished...yep I ran more of it than last time, yep it was mostly UPHILL in the mountains....OUCH! That will burn them legs like you just can't believe.
So glad you love biking. Wish I could. I can't do anything that goes faster than my feet in case I fall with this silly balance. I tend to break portions of my body (arms, legs, etc) and that plain hurts! LOL!
