About Me
My name is Kathy. I am very happily married to a wonderful man, although at time it does not appear that way, due to my illness. Al is very about my illness, although there are times he cannot tolerate me, (which are few and far between. I am a mother of a beautiful Daughter, who is the light of my life. She has given me three beautiful grandchildren, whom i adore. I am a college graduate, but have not gone into my field of study. I have an Associate of Science degree and Laboratory Technology, but noone would hire me due to the fact i failed one semester, and had to finish up in Liberal arts. I love to write poetry, but it seems the only time i really do is when i am in a downward cycle (very depressed about something) I wrote a poem right after 9/11/2006, and it was published. I forgot to mention, i just got married in September of 2007. My wedding was perfect. Here i go again, rambling. That's part of my illness, i cannot control what i am thinking. I think a support group woud really benefit me.

Close Bipolar Disorder
I have been bi-polar for many years, and for most of those years, i have managed to go without medications. But once in a while, something big occurs which sends me into a tailspin. The birth of my daughter, My 2nd marriage, (even though it was a happy occasion), the deaths of my parents. The last time I was hospitalized was this past November, i was in for 11 days. I am on Seroquel and Lamictol, and the Doctor had to up my meds a few weeks ago, As i said before, i love my husband, but i donn't always act like i do. And it is killing me, i do not want to be like this, I get very nasty, threaten suicide several times, because we have financial problems and i saw no end in sight. A bit of good news though, our finances should start clearing up soon. Al got accepted for SSD. He is out of work due to ankylosing spondylitis. and only getting work related disability. He is going to get his first check next month, which more than doubles my income. I just want to feel like my old self. not this person i am now.
Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) Depressioni am bipolar, am on seroquel 300 mg, and lamictol, 150 mg. and i am also on klonopin, for anxiety. Sometimes i feel like the meds are working, but there are many times when i feel that they are not working, and i really do not like myself when that happens. I get very nasty and snipe at my husband. I should be in 7th heaven right now, i just got married this past September. The only saving grace is my wonderful hubby knowds about my illness and is very patient with me.
