I saw my prosthetist today, he says there is nothing he can do to help with my nerve pain. have tried everything I can think of. The pain is awful and non stop. The phantom pain I had in the beginning was nothing compared to now.

No not for my leg.I'm also diabetic so the dr. keeps telling me that it's nueropathy and I'll have to live with it or stay on pain meds. They had to increase the morphine and it did not always help me. Yes I wear a gel liner and a cotton liner.Nothing seems to help.I did not surgery can be done,thank you for telling me

Sorry to hear about your pain, I am in a lot of pain as well, I went to see my surgeon for a follow up and he also said it was neuropathy and he prescribed me a night med have not had it filled yet, so not sure but probably just puts you to sleep. My pain is in both legs and like you never ending. Just think I will have to live with it I am attending a group called Coping with Disabilities and we are learning meditation to use along with the meds, seems to help breath is the beginning of life I sometimes forget to just breathe. Hope you feel good soon. -joy

Thank You for sharing.I think same way you do,just learn to live with it.I'm lucky, I just have pain from my stump to my hip.There isn't any support groups in this little town, whenever anyone asks how are you? I tell them- good I woke up toay! My faith in God and whatI learned yrs. ago in some 12 step groups are what keeps me going, oh yea and my cat.

I HOPE YOUR NERVE PAIN GOES AWAY. I HAVE FIBROMYALGIA AND THAT WITH THE SURGERY SHOULD HAVE PUT ME DOWN, BUT SO FAR ITS STATUS QUO. THE MOST PAIN I GET IS WHEN ITS DAMP OUT. LIKE THE RAIN AND DAMPNESS THE PAST FEW DAYS WAS BARELY TOLERABLE. I HOPE YOU GET OVER THIS HURTLE SOON. I FEEL LUCKY. I HAVE HAD PHANTOM PAIN ONLY ONE DAY, BUT AGAIN IT WAS THE DAMPNESS. GOD BLESS
