Hello, I am happy to have you for my new friend. I am on two statins right now. The doctor gave me samples Niaspan 500, so many of them I have bad side effects and can't stay on them. So far, so good. Our health care is different then yours. If anything shows up not right they call you right now, or send a letter for with a perscription in it, and your rechecked not more then 3 months. You can get as many blood until the problem is taken care of. If all is fine then they like to see you every 6 to 12 months. I go back in 3 months will let you know. If your on here about the same time I am we will chat,
Have a wonderful week end -

Have you ever heard of vrt(vision restoration therapy)? I just started researching that and it looks helpful for dizzyness and vertigo caused by stroke. As for switching from 40mgs to 80 mgs of lipitor, I'm very curious because I just got a computer with internet, so now I will research chloresterol, trigliceraides, hdl and ldl so well that I'm going a pro at this stuff because everyone is suspect and I refuse to be gullible in any way especially regarding my life and it's healthful treatment by any means. Thanks for staying in touch. We shall overcome ANY BS from anywhere and I am willing to work with you for ever even if it takes that long. Be well my dear friend.

My medication is ok. Nothing has changed except that my cholestoral was recently checked and my nurse practitioner thought that I should now take 80 mg of Lipitor instead of the 40 mg I've been taking all along. I don't know but I am afraid to change my dosage so radically. I am afaid of TOO MUCH Lipitor this time around. What are your thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks for your message. I am at the library because I will not have internet at home for a while yet. The library is good but it only allows you a very limited time. I will remain in touch though as I do believe that we can share alot and really be helpful to each other. Again thanks for writing.

Thanks for your message. Yes, I have an appt. with my doc next week, I'm going to tell her I want to try diet & exercise for awhile. I am taking "Red Yeast Rice" which she told me is the "natural" med for that.
