After having my niece/daughter living with me since August I have filed for custody. The only ones that are happy about this are my niece/daughter and I. Others are freaking out, mad. I just paid to have her father served the court papers. A lot of money for that. This is going to be interesting. I love this child so much, and I vowed a long time ago to protect her from her abusive mother and that is exactly what I'm going to do. She will no longer be abused by that woman. I have taught her to stand up for herself. To be strong, and believe in herself. She has a long way to go, because of the damage that her mother did, but she is healing, and as long as she is safe the healing can continue.
