I had to turn in my sister to Child protective services again, for abusing her son. When will all of this stop??? They went over there within a few hours, but the red marks from her grabbing his face were gone, and he had no bruises so nothing really happened. She is no longer speaking to me. She said she is done with me. The thing is, I am still raising her daughter. So where does that leave this situation? And where does that leave my nephew? Is he safe with no one to watch over him? I'm scared, and I don't know what to do. How long will this go on?? My sister abused my niece for 13 years before she was able to get out and find refuge with me. My nephew is turning 9 soon. He is stuck and alone there. There is nothing more I can do.

sorry....you were very brave

i would urge the son to run away on a regular basis. he should also turn her in for abuse if he can (though traditionally an abuser will abuse MORE when turned in). if he runs away a lot social services should take him away from the family. when i worked in a shelter the kids often ran to the shelter. they were not turned away. it says a lot when a kid keeps running away. the court should listen.
