Today was good, had class from 8am-10am then I went to the rink to skate.... BUT NO, they decided to do ice maintence and not tell me practice was cancelled.  Oh well.  I went to the gym and did a bit.  Just ran 3 miles.  Then I had more class until 3.

I got a new ID card (they disable the old one) and then came back to my room and did homework.  Thennn I drove to a different rink 20 minutes away to skating practice.  Now I'm sleepy!

I can't wait to weigh wednesday.  It is def a challenge not to do every day, but I am doing it!  I don't know how I'm doing eating wise.  I feel in such control of everything right now.  Eating so healthy and following my plan.  I'm not restricting too bad really.  LIke I say, I always stay between 1,200-1,600.  Today I ate 1,240.  So just like your average dieter.  I feel much better than when I was just eating sooo much and not counting.  I ate very unhealthy and a lot of junky carbs and sugar.  Now I'm eating the proper fuel and feel much better.

See heres the problem, when I say I want to get "better" and not obsess and count, then I just binge.  I can't not do it because I just eat a ridiculous amount, even for normal eaters.  Like last January- I went on a vacation with my family.  I decided not to restrict and eat whatever I wanted.  I ate so much, even my mom said "wow, Jamie you're getting quite a tummy."  Yeah, I can't go back to eating that way.   This is the only way I stay in control of my piggish self.

For the amount of activity you do, 1200 is really low. It's NOT your average diet.

I hope you can find a balance between eating enough t fuel your workouts and feeling like you're eating too much.

i think u go hog wild (pardon the term) when u decide to stop counting because u have denied urself those foods that u end up binging on for such a long period of time...and when u allow urself to have them again u want alot because u have missed them....the cookies...the chips...etc etc...perhaps the best plan of action is to have these things in small portions in ur daily diet so that they wont be such a treat if and when u stop counting again...they will be foods u have allowed urself on a daily basis...nothing special...nothing to get excited about...

Maybe if you upped your daily calories and were less strict with your diet you wouldnt go so over the top when you let yourself go a lil bit. Cos your body is used to eating the foods.

i agree with everyone. But Jamie you know how many calories you take in is only part of it, you burn just by doing nothing about 1300 calories a day, plus then burn off average 500 - 900 exercising a day. that's between 1800 - 2220 calories everyday you burn total. your going to keep losing weight if you don't up your food intake. you know all this, your a human performance and health promotion major, you know what you need to do to gain weight and lose it .

Finally someone who gets it! When I dont count I eat soo much. People don't get it. It is just something to control you know? I guess I could still count and eat a normal amount, but it's just not that easy.
