About Me
51 year old professional with young oulook and attitude from Scotland. 2 major depressions over the last 12 years both involving associated alcohol misuse. Went through home detox mid 2008 and still ongoing treatment for depression and alcohol dependency including pyschiatric and alcohol services support. Now their star pupil ha ha! Feeling great and have done for many many months. Live on my own in a village at the foot of the hills. Also gay but lets say not much recent practice but currently exploring internet dating!! Currently providing support to 2 older people inc my dear aunt who has Alzheimers. Given up work for now after a successful career and contemplating life changes.

Dr5inking for 10 years, last 4-5 very heavily 2.5 litres of white wine per day inc 0.75 before going to work Also depression and history of it - began self medicating with alcohol Very black and suicidal 6 months - just been throuhg home detox and still being treated for depression Feeling much better since I wrote my original profile but I did not fill this section in

Close Depression
Type: Clinical (Major) Depression10 year history of depression - major bout hten recovered partly moved house town set up business with others and then 10 years on collapse self medicating on alcohol for at least 5-6 years just been through home detox for the alcohol which services wanted me to do bfore treating the depression

- Paxil Not Working
- Never convinced of seroxat before even the publicity
- Prozac Working / Worked
- Just prescribed last few months been dealing with alcohol detox at same time
- Psychotherapy Somewhat Helpful
- chattered to some nice counsellors not challenging enough for me
- Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked
- Friends have taken me in on my 2 main bouts of depression including recent detox worked for the period I was with them
