Close Alcoholism
I'm a Transfer of Addiction gal. Food to alcohol following weight loss surgery. From July 05-Aug 07 I was addicted to alcohol and it cost me many things; nearly my life. In the time since, I've reached nearly 16 months sobriety and have regained many of the things I lost and found new things I didn't know I could have or already had. God is first in my life followed by my sobriety, my 2 beautiful children then fam & friends. I'm all or nothing. If I want it all I cannot have a drink. PERIOD.
Treatments
- Cold Turkey Working / Worked
- Weekend after my 30th birthday I quit cold turkey. No docs, no meds, no AA. Just my will and determination. Went through withdrawals physically and mentally/emotionally things were very trying. Now nearing 16 months sobriety. :)

Close Bipolar Disorder
I went through YEARS of being misdiagnosed. Finally in 2003 I found a shrink who agreed with my PCP and surgeon's findings. I'm living with Bipolar and am on a new path in hopes of finding better treatments that work for me. The key is "living with" not suffering or other negative terms. I refuse to let it get me down. I won't give up.
Open Stress Management
A hot button topic that works in sync living with Bipolar. Its a struggle most days depending on whether I'm in a High, Low or in between. I take each day as it comes. Besides its all we have; the here and now.

- Music Working / Worked
- Music is like air for me. I played the violin for 13+ years and have always been into music. I listen to it everyday and there is nothing better than live music.
- Patience Working / Worked
- Its a hard trait for me to absorb but I'm a work in progress. Patience I swear comes with age.
- Physical Exercise Working / Worked
- Walking and "nature" time are my saving grace. I feel my best when I'm surrounded by nature. A park, a walk, a change a scenery. Air. Life.
