    • About Me

mom of 3 - just 1 left at home, and she will be going away to school probably in August. Mom of 3 dogs - all at home (most of the time). I had both breasts removed last June - 15 days short of 1 year. I have terminal inflamatory breast cancer, there is approximately a 20 to maybe 40 % survival rate. It seems there is usually about a 3 year life expectancy and I have absolutely no one to talk to about all this. Although we've been together for 32 years now my husband is verbally and emotionally abusive. He has a girlfriend he spends every other weekend with. He fought with my son untill he got fed up and moved out. And around the time I was diagnosed with cancer my daughter became an alcoholic and she is also bulimic.

beadwork - beads, beads, beads - I love 'em! I love nature and live in the middle of the woods dogs, cats ....most any animals I studied art in college and I do most any craft (funny though, the current rage of scrapbooking bores me silly) I used to be involved with girl scouts for 17 years.

    • Close Breast Cancer
      Stage: IIIA (T3 N1)

Two days before Thanksgiving of 2006 I woke with a pain in my armpit. When I felt there I found a couple of lumps and more down the side of my left breast. I was at my dr's office the next day and without so much as even touching it the dr. said, "you have breast cancer". It's a rare type - inflamatory breast cancer. They say it is only 6% of all cancers (not just breast cancers). Within days the breast had doubled in size and was all dimply (like the skin of an orange). This kind always returns.

    • Close Breastfeeding

I'm a Grammy now, but I ran the nursing mother's group in my town for almost 20 years. I think most people these days realize that "breast is best". I nursed all 3 of my children so I have plenty of experience but on the other hand my daughter wasn't very successful and that's ok too. She was worried I'd be upset with her but I helped her to wean the baby. I would be happy to help any new moms in any way that's needed. Our group counciled moms on other mothering issues also.

    • Open Stickler Syndrome

My son was developmently slow and had speech and feeding problems. He was not diagnosed untill he was 4 yrs. old. At around 8 yrs old they said they could see Sticklers in his knees and eyes. I will tell him about this group because he's never known anyone else with this condition. I'm so glad you're here
