Yesterday I received a steroid injection in my lower left back. We are hoping that this will help with the radiating pain I have been experiencing for the past few years now. My pain management specialist has told me it might work, then again it might not. I am hoping it will since this was a painful procedure to experience.
The procedure itself wasn't painful at all but it is the recovery that really is painful. The muscles in my lower left back are really tight and I can't find a single comfortable position as of yet. I have tried Vicodin for the pain but it doesn't seem to be helping so I am trying to do the best I can for comfort.
I will be sure to write here as the week and my recovery goes on.

Wow! it does sound unpleasant - but will be worth it if you can get pain relief! Good that you are seeing a pain specialist. I find the best thing (for my twisted spine) is combination of 2-3 weekly visit to Osteopath (gentle manipulation & massage) and recently introduced drug Baclofen, which I just sat, and demanded. They really do wonders for muscle cramps, and I can take without any sides, or allergic reactions (I have these with every 2nd thing I try) Back surgery is out- too old! Please keep us informed as to how the tx is going, Best wishes, JaneD.
