Add your supportAfter experiencing anxiety and the renewal of panic attacks I went to see a doctor. He examined my prescription list, which I always bring to the doctor with me, then he asked me a bunch of questions. Was I suffering from anxiety, night terrors, suicidal thoughts mood swings and panic attacks? Yes to all. He explained that I was starting to suffer from psychotic episodes due to a medication interaction. The Lamictal I take for my Bipolar Disorder and the Topamax I was recently started on for Fibromyalgia were in conflict, causing all the problems, so I had to get off the Topamax.
This is the first time I have ever had a medication interaction. What gets me is the fact that I have seen two doctors, including the one who prescribed the Topamax and neither one caught the fact that I was on the Lamictal and thought to see if there would be a conflict. Not even the pharmacist at the drug store caught the interaction. I am just glad it was something that could have killed me. I am also glad to know that I wasn't goingt crazy, it was just the drugs making me that way. I tell you, I am going to be a lot more careful from now on when it comes to my prescriptions.

After a terrible nightmare about a dark figure in my bedroom doorway, my panic attacks have returned, so I have regressed. I no longer will enter a darkened room or even sleep in my bedroom in the dark without some kind of dim light on. It's a soft blue Christmas light but it does the job of making me feel comfortable enough to go to sleep.
I see the doctor next week to see what we can do to get this back under comtrol again. I'll post the results.
As for weight loss, I am happy to report that I am down to 193lbs. In about a month or so, I have lost about 16lbs. YEAH ! ! ! ! I haven't even been trying either. Just coming of the Lyrica helped a lot. Now with me going on to Topamax, more weight should come off.

That really scary. I have multiple allergies, and I check everything myself -esp. after a pharmacist made me really sick by mis-prescribing once. His partner came over to my house & gave me meds & vitamins to cut short the reaction. Poor man was so sorry. He died 6 weeks later - cancer of the heart (which I'd never heard of). I think he was heavily doped up on p'killers, but should not have been dispensing. It's so good to know that the medication was the cause of your problems, and not yourself. I hope you feel much better in the next few days. Fond regards, JaneD.
