On A Roll? Hope so. Mood
Sunday, August 16, 2009 | A Positive story

"Positive vibrations, YEAH, POSITIVE! That's what we got to give!"---B. Marley

I have managed to accomplish two major things! Wolfie and I got all the packed boxes off to UPS store yesterday. I had to creatively hunt down someone who would do it since the UPS people screwed up TWICE. I brainstormed on Friday. I was thinking "haul", we need someone willing to "haul", so I looked up haulers and was disappointed at first to realize that most of them only hauled trash, but like the 4th one I looked at said he was flexible enough to do some, "light moving" in town as long as it wasn't super valuable stuff because you have to be bonded to be a real mover. If you are reading this and you live in Seattle, and you need some trash hauled or anything like that, contact IHAUL (an "i" on the front like ipod), because he is fast, friendly, doesn't charge a fortune, almost too good to be true, that's why I'm advertising for him. LOL.

I had just gotten done looking up when school starts in New Mexico, because that was sending me into a panic. I knew it was coming soon, and turns out that school starts on the 17th! So, I was worried about what kind of trouble we would be in with sonny boy down there when school starts and we're still up here.

Then, I talked to our son that night on the computer and turns out that my dad is talking trash to him about sending him to school even though he KNOWS that we plan to homeschool him for the rest of his compulsory education until he is ready for college. So, I was hoping that somehow we would get there just in time to keep it from being a legal issue or something or before my dad went and did something stupid that really screwed up my relationship with him. My mom offered to fill out the paperwork for me in my stead, but when she found out that we were much closer to being there she said it could cause more problems than it helped and Wolfie and I both agreed on that note. BUT, because of my mom asking questions about it, it prompted me to go to the websites again to double check the legal info and lo and behold! They now allow you to sign your kid up for homeschooling ONLINE! WOO HOO! I DID IT! He is now officially legally homeschooling!

Wolfie talked to our son on the computer last night, and found that even though the paperwork has been filed electronically that Dad is dead set against it, (big surprise, NOT. He's always been against it and I don't give a fuck.) and now he is trying to convince our son and lecturing him nonstop about it and our son feels oppressed by all this. Wolfie told him that it was okay that Dad thinks he is agreeing with his rants about it, just not to worry. The thing Dad should realize is that now that sonny boy is signed up for homeschooling, he can't legally send him to school. Yay! But, no matter. We will make sure he is aware of that little factoid soon enough. Probably tonight in fact, just in case he starts getting any ideas.

PROGRESS! We're making PROGRESS! Real, visible progress! And, I am so ecstatic. Also, I was looking online last night at some math games and geography games for use in homeschooling and there is some really cool stuff. Love it. I will have to take time out to share that info with the homeschooling board as soon as I can. I hope everything else goes swimmingly, too.

WOW! What fabulous progress! Great job! I can't wait to hear about the homeschooling stuff. What a huge and admirable committment. How is that structured? Will you and Wolfie take turns, or will one of you do it all the time? Do you have to come up with your own lesson plans, or are there state-approved things? I am so happy for you! Good luck for the rest of your move.

I'm impressed. I don't think I could have ever home schooled my son. He had ADD really bad in elementary school, but then again, I always think it was the school's fault as well. I think it shows how much dedication you have. Good for your and your child!

What a drag...I'm in Seattle, and your moving. But I wish you well.
