My son was diagnosed with P.D,D,N.O.S. and my daughter was diagnosed with Autism and Sotos Syndrome. Sotos Syndrom is a rare gentic overgrowth disorder. I have a very supportive family and church community but would like to meet other parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Close Breakups & Divorce

I am 32, and was married 6 and 1/2 years to a man who was not happy in a traditional christan marriage. He cheated on me in my 2nd pregnancy, and mistreated our 3 yearold son and myself. With the support of my family, friends, and church community I have legally seperated amicalbly. He filed for divorce 3 years ago but it is not finalized. I am healing and by the grace of God,His church, and my family I have made a safe, loving home for my son, 7, & daughter, 3 (Autistic & Sotos Syndrome) .

Forgiveness Considering

I am tryng to forgive him, not for him but for me. My church is helping.

Music Working / Worked

My life line, Music to allow me to let go of my bottled emotions. I don't like to let them go infront of my children.

Psychotherapy Working / Worked

I used personal therapy. Anti depressent medication for a while. They worked well I have begun to call my ex it and depersonification is helping a lot.

Reading Working / Worked

I have read a couple books on divorce, but the best book for me was the Bible. I found solace in my favorite novels by Nora Roberts and Fern Micheals the sisterhood series in particular. And my vast book collection of classic works by J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Douglas Adams, Anne McCaffery, and Laurel K. Hamilton.

Support from Friends & Family Working / Worked

Imparative. I have a very supporting family and Church community who dropped everything to drive the distance to be with me. I am a leader of womens' bible study and they supported me to. I have a stephen Minister who visits twice a week .

Talking Working / Worked

My liffe line is my siblings and my parents. They all call me every week. My mother calles twicw a day. My stephen Minster from church visits 2 times a week. I call my friends often.

Time Working / Worked

Over time I have gotten over a lot of anger, loathing. I do not regret a thing I said or did for even a second. I can have civil conversations, and stand to be in the same room with it.
