I left to go on vacation on July 31. My mom and I took my little cousin back home to Ohio, and stayed until the 4th. My older cousin graduated nursing school (yay!), and I got to hang out with her and her two kids for a couple days.
On the way back, I also finally told my Mom that my grandfather molested me when I was 13 and 14. I'm pretty sure it shocked her. And talking to her about it opened it up a little for me, and I've started to feel better about it now. She's said she won't force me to EVER go to his bouse again, I never even have to SEE him again if I don't want to. And since the rest of my family is so close by, I will always have an excuse.
It was so refreshing to go home again. I went to my grandmother's grave for the first time since she died 10 years ago, and spent 15 minutes or so talking to her. That made me feel better too. It's amazing how something like that can work wonders, isn't it? Then, coming home, I felt so rejuvenated; Ohio is just like that for me. It's home, and I think it always will be. Portsmouth is just such a beautiful town, and my family are such great people. (With one or two exceptions, of course.) Hope everyone is doing well! xoxo
