I am the mom of a 23 year old son, who is now a recovering Heroin addict thanks to the new Drug Suboxone. I too am in recovery from drugs and alcohol for the past 21 years. My boyfriend and I own a small engine repair business, and operate it on my 6 acre farm. I have 5 border collies - the mom (Chaos), dad (Rocky), and a pup from each litter - Rascal, Bandit and Freckles.

Hi Renee, Yes it was really sad. My sister and I stayed with her while she passed on. Wow it was really hard. I cried and cried. Skippy, Sassy's brother was about 5 feet away and boy he sensed that things were not right. He wouldn't leave. Skip is the last of the 3 sibblings and next week he turns 15 alone. sigh. such a shame. I don't know at this point if I will get another dog or not. Borders are high maintenance and I'm not a spring chicken any more. Time will tell. Thankyou for being soo supportive. Hugs and love Nancy

My 23 year old son has been in recovery from heroin addiction for the past 15 months, and I thank god every day, I also am thankful for Suboxone, without it, my son would not have been able to get off and stay off the heroin. For parents, spouses, siblings, friends of someone addicted to heroin or opiates, there is hope, and for the practicing heroin addict there is also hope - reach out to someone for help - heroin and opiate addiction is the worst addiction to have
