Thanks for the thought. When mine says that I am not on line, I click on the "people" link at the top middle of my screen (not my friends but all the people that are on DS), the one that is in the green line at the top. I find someone that has the chat box with their avatar and click on that chat box. I don't actually chat with the person, it just connects me to the chat option. See if that works for you.
Prayer
Thanks for your supportive words on my journal. Sorry that it took so long to respond and I wanted to answer your question. I asked God to assign prayer warriors and intercessors over my daughter. I also contacted Dennis Jernigan and asked him to pray for my daughter. I told my daughter I agreed to disagree about her decisions and did everything I could to let her know that I loved her. she in turn realized our love for her and knew she could count on us to be there for her. She will need more prayers daily. Ask God to place only godly and holy people around your friend to be a godly influence on her.

Thanks for the reply, I always test between 6 and 8 times a day, always have done, I dont feel in control if I dont,I inject 5 times a day so I need to know how much insulin to inject. Its probably due to stress, I had food poisoning 6 weeks ago and its been since then, the doc says it will take some time to get back to normal.
How are you doing, did you get the chat sorted out?
