What a great weekend
Well I had the best weekend and to be honest have never written in this journal but thought I would share something very embarrassing but funny …
I'm 40 years old and live with my loving partner and beautiful 10 year old boy. I work part time and have been diagnosed for a year and a half. I found this site by accident and love the advice. Just been on Rebif for about 2 months now, going well so far with only one major attack 2 years ago before being dx. Legs are mainly affected. Hope to connect with others.

Just read you are trying to uit smoking. I was never a smoker but understand how hard it is. From others I gather cold turkey is the way to go & use anything you can to get through. One of my friends bought those candy cigarettes we had as kids (remember them), they are still around & she had them in her hand & nibbled them instead of a smike so she had something in her hand - the distraction helped her.
In the meantime eat chocolate!

Hi Sam, Good luck with quitting I know you can do it. I never started, but my mom and grandmother both had smoked since they were about 13 and then quit. My mom was 35 and quit my grandmother was in her 50's when she quit. My dad and grandfather both tried many times to quit and never were able to stop for long. My dad died of cancer and my grandfather died from a heart attack both fairly young. My mom just turned 70 in August and is still doing pretty well. Better than me at least. :)
I know it's tuff, but you can do it!
My prayers are with you! Let me know how the trial goes! I would like to try Tysabri and see if it helps me. I am on Rebif as most MS patients but I heard tysabri can help better! Good Luck

Hi Sam, Sorry to read that you are going through a tough time. Sorry cant give you any pointers as I had the hysterectomy well before I had ms. Hope you feel better soon.
Aug 2006- Numb spot under left foot. Next day, under right foot and spread to toes. By end of weekend, numb from waist down with definate banding. Sent for bloods and CT-nothing. Thought I had Guillan Barre syndrome-off to neuro. Suggested Transverse Myellitis. Had MRI. One Lesion on spine and 2 on brain. Neuro thinks maybe MS but won't tell me for sure. Sent me home. Changed Neuro. Gradually symptoms subsided over weeks. Toes feel like beach sand in them and get alot of spasticity and nerve impulses in legs. Have 6 monthly MRI's. Next one no change. Last one in Feb this year showed another lesion on spine and another 2 in brain. Started on Rebif. Here I am now. Occasionally get little flares in symptoms but overall doing okay. On antidepressants for last 4 weeks. Last flare up was in a lot of pain with legs and got very depressed as I worked in a school so was on my feet alot with the kids. Learning to cope with all this and jsut when I think I have got it-something brings me down to earth. Hope I can help support others and that this site will bring me some "Daily Strength" when I need it too. Look forward to making some new friends and hearing others views, opinions and stories. Ooroo!!
